From a self-composed how-to guide on being an adventure heroine, to an obsessive college crush on the vaguely-Harrison-Ford-resembling editor of her college newspaper, to sundry forays into erotic historical fanfiction, Diane’s material comes from the tragic and hilarious place where fangirl obsession meets real life.
Diane first performed in the January 2009 production of Mortified Chicago, reading her 7th grade diary detailing her grandiose plans to write the next Gone With the Wind. A native of Michigan, she moved to Washington, D.C. after college, where she became a founding member of Story League. She now works as their Publicity Director and time-keeper at Story League’s monthly Story Contests in partnership with Busboys & Poets.
She is the current GrandSlam winner for Philadelphia’s First Person Arts, and was also part of the winning “Team Detroit” in their “City vs. City” StorySlam. She made her New York debut in April 2012 at Mortified NYC at 92Y Tribeca. Diane also performs locally with Bare!, Speakeasy DC, and 8×8.
